Stronger Lives, Stronger Community

Formerly Food 4 Kids – Plano, an initiative of Mayor Harry LaRosiliere and the NTFB

It may come as a surprise, but hunger is a reality for a number of families in Plano

  •  1 out of 5 children in Collin County are considered food insecure.

  • In Collin County, there are 132,720 individuals who don't always know where their next meal is going to come from.

  • An estimated 41% of children in Collin Country may be income-eligible for federal nutrition programs, such as the free and reduced lunch problem.

Since his first term, Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere has partnered with the North Texas Food Bank to address the issue of food insecurity for children, families and seniors in Plano. His work and leadership has allowed NTFB's Food 4 Kids program to expand in Plano, and connected Plano-based corporate partners & community members with NTFB's mission to close the hunger gap.
