Partner Agencies & Community Distribution

Partner Agencies & Community Distribution

NTFB works closely with more than 200 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other facilities to ensure that we get nutritious food to those who need it. These strategic partnerships are critical to fighting hunger in North Texas. In addition to providing food to these critical partners, we also work with these organizations to provide complementary nutrition-related programs including SNAP benefits outreach services, and nutrition-education workshops and courses

Mobile Pantries

Like a market on wheels, the North Texas Food Bank's Mobile Pantry program is a traveling pantry that delivers nutritious food, including fresh produce and refrigerated items, directly to communities with high need.

Mobile Pantry's priority is to collaborate with NTFB Partner Agencies and other community organizations serving in high-need areas, such as, Food Deserts. The purpose of this mobile program is to provide or improve access to fresh, perishable and other healthy grocery products in areas where local agencies have limited or no capacity for refrigeration and/or freezer storage. Through Mobile Pantry, participating households receive up to 50 pounds of food per visit.

Food 4 Paws

Many consider their pets to be members of the family.  When families are experiencing hunger, purchasing pet food can seem completely out of reach.  The Food 4 Paws program enables the large-scale distribution of dog and cat food to families and individuals seeking assistance through NTFB Partner Agencies.  NTFB is proud to offer dog and cat food at no handling fee for agencies that choose to offer it.

Our Community Pantry

Our Community Pantry

In 2014, NTFB opened Our Community Pantry (OCP), a client-choice food pantry modeled after a traditional grocery store. OCP is located adjacent to St. Philip's School & Community Center in the heart of South Dallas.  Our Community Pantry is a learning lab, allowing NTFB to observe best practices that may serve as a model for other pantries and NTFB's Partner Agencies. Our Community Pantry is currently serving more than 300 households each month.
