With school out for the summer, food insecure children no longer have access to school breakfast and lunches and are at risk of going hungry. During this time, food banks like the North Texas Food Bank, and food pantries often experience a decline in donations. These factors combined make summer the hungriest season for our struggling neighbors and their children.
Don't let this be the case for children, families or seniors in our community! Here's how you can help:
This summer, your impact can double thanks to our generous supporters at the David M. Crowley Foundation! Every dollar donated from July 1 - August 15 will be matched, up to $100,000!
That means that while usually $1 provides access to 3 meals, through this matching period, you can turn $1 into 6 meals!
We also encourage you to create your own fundraising page to help us fight summer hunger with your friends and family! Click here to start your own fundraiser to help fight hunger.
Historically the summer months are a slow time for donations of food – your canned food drive or virtual food drive will help NTFB fill tables this summer. Consider donating peanut butter, low sodium canned goods, canned meats or other healthful items for our neighbors in need.
