The North Texas Food Bank is ReThinking Hunger

Hunger today in North Texas has become much larger and far more complex.
The lingering effects of a bad economy continue to bring new faces of hunger to our doors, many for the first time in their lives, and through no fault of their own.

At the North Texas Food Bank, we are ReThinking Hunger — providing healthier food, developing new ways to extend our reach, and improving the lives of those we serve. Hunger may be getting bigger, but our solutions are getting better.

We recognize, for example, that hunger is bad for your health. So we're helping provide the cure, by stepping up efforts to provide healthier food to support the nutritional needs of people struggling with hunger.

We're also learning more about their needs, developing new ways to distribute food to more people, and measuring the positive impact that access to nutritious meals can make. The bottom line is that — as we Rethink Hunger at the North Texas Food Bank — we're not just filling tables, we're improving lives.

Although the challenges we face in alleviating hunger are daunting, with your help, we can succeed.
So please, give us a dollar — a dollar equals three meals. Give us an hour — in an hour we can fill hundreds of boxes with healthy, nutritious food. Give us a can — every item of food we receive from you helps our efforts go even farther. And lend us your voice — help us bring attention to the problem of hunger in our community.
