Member Agency Benefits
All NTFB Member Agencies have access to the following exceptional services and programs:
- Access to USDA commodities and donated products while sharing in the cost by paying a handling fee of $0.14 per pound.
- 85% of the cost of purchased food is covered by the NTFB.
- Handling fees waived for many perishable items like produce, bread and short dated product.
- Grant Money: Apply for NTFB grants through the Agency Brownie Points or our Close the Gap initiative.
- Nonprofit Expertise: Gain valuable skill and knowledge for your staff through Agency University , a free capacity building education program.
- Connections: Network with other organizations similar to your own at our annual Member Agency Conference (MAC)

Checklist of Requirements
Any organization that wishes to partner with the NTFB must meet the following requirements prior to beginning the application process.
- Be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 not for profit, charitable organization
- Offer services directly to the ill, needy, or children (under 18 years) free of charge and with no requirement to attend any kind of service
- Distribute food as an emergency food box or as a meal or snack prepared on site to be consumed on the premises
- Have operated a food program for at least six months
- Treat program sites by licensed pest control at least once every three months

- Service area reviewed for unmet needs and request for membership mailed if area underserved
- Mail completed request for membership
- Must be approved prior to first site visit
- First site visit conducted and application provided
- Submit Application – application must be complete with a minimum of six documents submitted or your request will be returned
- Second Site Visit conducted and invited to Orientation
5 Steps to Become an On-Site
An on-site prepares and/or serves food to be consumed at any type of shelter, residential or soup kitchen.
Once you meet all of the above requirements, you can become a NTFB Member Agency in 5 Easy Steps!

5 Steps to Become a Supplemental
A supplemental serves snacks in an afterschool setting similar to a Boys & Girls Club or YMCA.
