Food 4 Kids

It costs just $5 to feed a hungry child over the weekend through the North Texas Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids program. Currently operating in 330 elementary schools and in over 40 school districts throughout North Texas, Food 4 Kids reaches over 8,000 students weekly who are at risk of food insecurity or chronic hunger.  Each backpack sent home includes roughly four pounds of food and features items such as milk, juice, fruit and cereal bars and trail mix.  Food 4 Kids operates each Friday during the school year (40 weeks) and also during summer months at summer school sites and Kids Café locations in and around Dallas.
