Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program
SNAP (Food Stamp) Program is key to addressing the nutritional needs of low-income Texas families and one of the nation's most important defenses against hunger. However, many barriers to participation remain. Nationally, only 60 percent of those eligible for food stamps receive them. In Texas, less than 58 percent of those eligible receive food stamps.
The North Texas Food Bank outreach coordinators help increase enrollment through application assistance, education, and outreach in 13 Texas counties. It's completely free and no cost to the applicants.
